Stay Hydrated

stay hydrated by drinking water and adding essential oils to it such as lemon or grapefruit to help support your body.

Staying hydrated! Hydration is very important even if we aren’t feeling well, however when we aren’t feeling well it is very important. Did you know that you should drink half your body weight in ounces a day at a minimum? When you are fighting something or feeling under the weather I recommend increasing that to help you body flush out the bad. I personally add a citrus oil to my water to help with the detoxification process. I prefer Lemon, Grapefruit or Green Mandarin although you have a lot of different choices.

Get Some Sleep

getting enough sleep is very important to a healthy immune system. Get 7-9 hours of sleep a night.

Our bodies recover when we sleep, therefore it is always important to get enough sleep, especially this time of year. So what is enough sleep? You really need 7-9 hours as an adult. It is stated in some research that women actually do need more sleep then men, but I will let you decide on that one. No matter what, you need to make sleep a priority. This is going to help you body fight what is coming its way and stay strong.

Take You Supplements

Eating healthy goes without saying. The more whole foods you are eating the better for your body. Give it the fuel it needs. On top of eating healthy I also recommend taking good supplements. I personally take doTERRA’s lifelong vitality daily and I credit these supplements in large to why I haven’t gotten sick in over 4 years besides an occasional couple day sniffle.

Probiotics such as doTERRA’s PB assist can also help keep your gut healthy which has been shown to support a healthy immune system.

Wash Your Hands

all natural no alcohol hand sanitizer

Wash your hands regularly especially when out in public. I carry my OnGuard hand sanitizer with me in my wallet at all times. When I grab my shopping cart at the store I spray down the handle, and then spray my hands again when I am done at the store. I use that stuff all day every day! It is so easy to carry and so easy to use.

Be Prepared

When you first realize you are fighting something, or you are around people who are not feeling great it is time to start oiling!!! Check out this graphic to see some of my favorite recipes and oils to have on hand and in the cycle regularly.

Use these simple natural recipes to help prevent you from getting sick during the cold and flu season.

Besides these oils, during this time of year I put OnGuard in the diffuser in the main living area of our home every day for at least 5 hours. I also take OnGuard+ Softgels daily when I take my supplements to keep my immune system functioning at top notch. When I am traveling or around people who are not feeling well I increase that to 2-3 a day.

These are just a few simple tips that have helped me to stay extremely healthy over the last 5 years. I hope they help you keep your family healthy as well.
